The United States Virgin Islands (USVI) is a group of islands in the Caribbean made up of over 50 small islands. The USVI are an insular area of the United States. The islands are geographically part of the Virgin Islands archipelago and are located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles.

There are four larger populated islands: St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas, and Water Island.  The total land area of the territory is 346.36 km² (133.73 sq mi). As of the 2000 census the population was 108,612. Three of the main islands have nicknames often used by locals: "Twin City" (St. Croix), "Rock City" (St. Thomas), "Love City" (St. John), and "Small City" (Water Island). (Source: www.wikipedia.org)

The Puerto Rico Transportation Technology Transfer Center has been providing technical assistance through seminars and workshops to local transportation officials from the Department of Public Works in the US Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John) for almost 14 years.  The Center is committed to help and support the US Virgin Islands.
