The UPR-Mayagüez MARC Program, sponsored by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), has been designed to provide honor students in the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Biotechnology, and Industrial Microbiology with research-related activities. In addition, MARC students adopt a special science curriculum that will increase their possibilities of being accepted to a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. program, and being successful in it.
