Traffic Accident Collision Action Plan

If a collision occurs in a traffic accident consider following these steps: 

1. Get your car and its passengers off any busy road and set flashers and flare.
2. Write down the license-plate number of the other car immediately.
3. Summon a police officer (Tel. 343-2020).
4. Exchange names, addresses, phone numbers and insurance data.
5. Make short notes on how the collision happened.
6. Accept no "informal" settlements at the scene.
7. Seek a tow from an authorized towing company.
8. Report the collision to your insurance company and get prompt damage estimate.
9. Ask your insurer or auto dealer for advice in picking a body shop.
10. Get the insurer's approval of the repair estimate before work begins.
