Research Interests
Ultrafast  Optics, Solid-State Optics, Metal-to-Insulator Phase Transition, Elastic Light Scattering.
Ultrafast Processes in Materials Science. Experimental study of laser induced insulator-to-metal phase transition  in vanadium dioxide and ultrafast nonlinear properties of metal-dielectric nanocomposites. We are studying the transient optical processes at femtosecond and picosecond time scale; electron excitations, electron-phonon and phonon-phonon interactions, heat transfer; lattice relaxation, mechanical oscillation of nanoparticles, two-photonic processes. Numerical analysis of time and spatial optical processes at attosecond and femtosecond time scale.
 3-D Elastic Light Scattering, Surface Plasmon-Polariton Optics. Experimental and numerical investigation of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) processes on metal films (i.e. radiative SPP scattering and interaction of plasmons with metal nanoparticles, surface roughness, one-dimensional defects). Investigation of the optical and statistical surface properties by 3D SPP-scattering. Development of angle-resolved hemispherical elastic light scattering methods, technical development of optical and mechanical components for study of different interfacial architectures.
