Website Assignment
Hi fellow webmasters!!
Today you get to start making your own websites.
How do I do it? What do I have to do? How much will it cost?
Practice. Experiment.
COST? Nothing but some time, if you follow the instructions, use your creativity and some patience, and try to make this assignment something you can be proud of now and use for yourself in the future.
To avoid last minute problems, your professor will require you to have created the original space or website (a generic site with no modifications) by October 6th, Friday. You need to send him proof of this basic step as in the instructions before that date.
Your final website will have the following items:
Your resume (you can remove the contact information for your protection)
2 journals (your best ones)
2 Essays (your problem-solution essay and best of the other essays)
4 pictures or graphic images (no porno!!) Preferrably a photo page or album. An explanation of what we see and why you wanted to put those images in your website.
2 quizzes about class materials or activities made through a web-based quiz service
10 links that are useful for you and people like you
A review [yours] and recommendation of a recent movie
A way for visitors to contact you and *maybe a guestbook
*A page where you offer some service (jokes, comics, etc)
*A page helping to work on some social need or problem (see journal #15 in guide)
*optional work for additional points
Once you have created the space, the professor will be giving you specific deadlines for having completed different parts of the work. There will also be some dates on which you will be presenting your pages to the class.
