Synopsis - I am biologist/entomologist trained at the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia. I started my master's studies at UPRM in August, 2009. I am primarily interested in beetles of the family Staphylinidae. My undergraduate research project focused on the diversity and richness of this family at various spatial scales in a sub-Andean landscape. My graduate research at UPRM will also involve staphylinids, although now I plan to study the systematics and host associations of "ant-like litter beetles" in the Neotropical genus Pselaphomorphus Motschulsky (Staphylinidae: Pselaphinae: Jubini). I am particularly interested in exploring the ecological relationships that exist between theses and other pselaphine beetles and ants.
