Synopsis - I joined the insect systematics & evolution lab of the Biology Department at UPRM in January 2008. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Antioquia, and have conducted undergraduate thesis research towards a revision of the subfamily Parandrinae (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in Colombia. In the course of 2007 I have worked on the systematics and natural history of weevils in the tribe Derelomini (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), a lineage with close relationships to certain groups of monocot host plants. At UPRM I will continue to work on such a group of weevils for my M.Sc. research project.
