11/14/2006 - Mr. Milton Rivera, ChemE PhD candidate, presented the paper entitled: "Selective Nanoporous Sorbents for Gas Based Separations: Ion Exchanged Silicoaluminophosphates and Titanosilicates" during the 2006 AIChE National Meeting (San Francisco, CA).

11/04/2006 - Ms. Daphne S. Belén, ChemE PhD candidate, presented the paper entitled: "Cobalt Aluminophosphate Nanoporous Sorbents: Hofmann Degradation of The Structure-Directing Agent and Post-Synthesis Treatments" during the 2006 InQu/ACS: Advances in Chemical Sciences and Engineering in Puerto Rico (Dorado, PR).

05/05/2006 - Prof. Arturo Hernández and Ms. Daphne S. Belén, ChemE PhD Candidate, participated in the PR-LSAMP: 2nd Transdisciplinary Research Conference (Mayagüez, PR). Daphne presented a poster entitled: "Cobalt Aluminophosphate Nanoporous Sorbents: Hoffman Degradation of the Structure Directing Agent and Post-Synthesis Treatment."

05/03/2006 - Prof. Arturo Hernández participated in a discussion panel entitled: "A Bridge to Sustained Competitive Performance and Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate Program" which was part of the UPRM WALS-AIP Project initiatives.

11/02/2005 - Ms. Daphne S. Belén, ChemE PhD candidate, presented the paper entitled: "Removal of the Structure-Directing Agent from a Thermally Unstable Cobalt Substituted Aluminophosphate" during the 2005 AIChE National Meeting (Cincinnati, OH).

10/20/2005 - Ms. Daphne S. Belén and Mr. Milton Rivera, ChemE PhD candidates, presented their research work during the 12th ChemE Symposium (Mayagüez, PR). Milton won third place in the grad students poster session. Congrats to Milton!!!

09/23/2005 - Prof. Arturo Hernández and Mr. Milton Rivera, ChemE PhD Candidate, participated in the Puerto Rico-NSF/EPSCoR Annual Meeting (Río Grande, PR).

The Puerto Rico EPSCoR Program has reached 20 years of existence in Puerto Rico.  Since its inception, it has pursued the goal of developing S&T competitive research in Puerto Rico. To celebrate the success of the program, this year’s Puerto Rico-EPSCoR Annual Conference was dedicated to pass review on the achievements of the past 20 years and explore future paths to continue supporting S&T infrastructure and stimulating the development of competitive research. It should be mentioned that Dr. Eric Bloch, former NSF Director, Member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and the creator of the EPSCoR Program, was one of the keynote speakers during the celebration.
