Today, our 80,000 members and the public turn to ACM for the industry's leading Portal to Computing Literature, authoritative publications and pioneering conferences, providing leadership for the 21st century.

About Us

In 1989 a group of students that studied Business Administration with a major on Information Technology founded the Data Processing Management Association student chapter. Their purpose was to expand their knowledge in the IT field across the university campus and the College of Business Administration. During the following years, Professor Awilda Valle was their chapter counselor.

Striving for improvement and benefits for the students, after 7 years, the DPMA Student Chapter was transformed into the Association of Information Technology Professionals in 1996. The chapters' counselors for this era were Prof. Lucyann Fernandez, Prof. Awilda Valle and Prof. Rafael Olivencia.

After 8 years, a need for a positive change was demanded by the student community. A group of 7 students elected by the student body of Information Technology Major decided to act upon the mentioned request. On December 7, 2004 the Association for Computing Machinery Business Administration Student Chapter was founded.
